Is Roadrunner Email Phasing Out?

Given the ever-changing email provider landscape and the acquisition of Time Warner Cable (TWC) by Charter Communications in 2015, many long-time users ask: Is Roadrunner email still available?

Good news first: Yes, Roadrunner email is still active. There are currently no plans to shut it down. Existing users can still access their Roadrunner or TWC Mail accounts through the Spectrum Webmail portal or by using the Roadrunner email settings listed below.

However, you cannot create new Roadrunner accounts anymore. That’s why some users believe Roadrunner may eventually phase out, with existing accounts transitioned into Charter’s Spectrum email system. If you’re considering switching to a new provider, this guide can help you manage, log in, or even delete your old Roadrunner or TWC Mail account.

What is Roadrunner Email and TWC Mail?

Roadrunner email (often called RR email) was an email service provided by Time Warner Cable. When Charter Communications acquired TWC in 2015, all TWC and Roadrunner email accounts were merged into Spectrum’s email platform.

Although the branding changed, existing addresses ending in @rr.com, @roadrunner.com, or @twc.com still work. They are now hosted on Spectrum’s email servers.

You can still use your old Roadrunner or TWC email credentials to sign in through Spectrum Webmail.

How to Log in to Roadrunner or TWC Mail

You can access your old Roadrunner or TWC email accounts through Spectrum’s official webmail login page.

Steps:
1. Go to the Spectrum Webmail login page: https://webmail.spectrum.net
2. Enter your full email address (e.g. [email protected] or [email protected]).
3. Enter your password.
4. Click “Sign In.”
5. You’ll be taken to your inbox.

If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Username or Password” and follow the on-screen steps.

You can also use any email app (like Outlook, Apple Mail, or Thunderbird) with the Roadrunner settings below.

Roadrunner Email Settings:

Simple Setup for Any Email App

You can use either IMAP, POP, or SMTP to connect Roadrunner mail to your preferred app.

IMAP (Incoming Mail)
- IMAP Server: mail.twc.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your Roadrunner password

SMTP (Outgoing Mail)
- SMTP Server: mail.twc.com
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your Roadrunner password

POP3 (Alternative Incoming Mail)
- POP Server: mail.twc.com
- Port: 995
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your Roadrunner password

IMAP vs POP3: Which to Choose?

IMAP keeps your emails synchronized across all devices — perfect if you check email on your phone, laptop, and desktop.

POP3 downloads your emails to one device and removes them from the server — useful if you want to save space or work offline.

If you use multiple devices, IMAP is better. If you use one device and want offline access, POP3 works fine.
